A pinhole camera captures an image through a small hole, which light travels through to create the image and inverts it. The image is inverted because light travels in straight lines, and going through a hole smaller than the image will cause it to invert because of the angle. The photo paper can be exposed for a long amount of time, and does not use chemicals. Therefore the image is produced throughout a number of days.
A solargraph is created using long exposure photography. The color is created by crystals that form on the black and white photo paper during the exposure. The sun is a major part of a solargraph and it burns across the image as it records it's movements. |
